The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center, the AT&T Connected Health Foundry, and Merck & Co., Inc. is launching Connect to End Cancer at this year's SXSW Conference. Speakers include Mark Ganz, Cambia Health Solutions, Ronald DePhino, MD Anderson Cancer Center, Christina Lopes, The One Health Company, and Joe Biden, who will be speaking as a special guest about his own cancer research initiative.
The Texas conference announced Monday that the former vice president will outline plans for his new Biden Cancer Initiative in a March 12 talk in Austin. Biden’s son, Beau, suffered from brain cancer for five years before eventually succumbing to it in 2015.
Other speakers and panels will provide education, exposure, and potential development support to entrepreneurs and encourage collaboration among innovators, industry executives, venture capitalists, celebrities, philanthropists and SXSW Interactive attendees who share MD Anderson, the AT&T Foundry, and Merck & Co., Inc.’s commitment to make cancer history.
