Senior Director - Sales
The One Health Company is the first individualized medicine company for dogs with cancer. We are a company of animal lovers, who are passionate about improving how both veterinary and human cancer is diagnosed, analyzed, and treated.
Our mission is to eradicate canine cancer and we try to accomplish this with our product FidoCure, by running advanced genetic testing on each dog’s cancer, analyzing the data, providing therapeutic recommendations, and tracking outcomes. We are building the largest canine cancer data set in the world, and what we learn with each dog helps all future dogs, and people too.
We completed Y-Combinator and raised Series Seed financing from Andreessen Horowitz. We are a tight- knit team committed to our Mission.
As Sales Director you will work alongside the executive team and will lead the company’s sales operations. Experience in the healthcare industry is necessary to achieve your goals, particularly in the veterinary, oncology, and/or precision medicine fields. You will be expected to work under the highest ethical and regulatory standards and use your industry experience and technology knowledge to identify, develop, and pursue customer opportunities as well as foster, build and maintain relationships with current customers. In addition, you will build the sales team to drive rapid unit volume growth while delivering an exceptional customer experience, while leading and motivating the sales team to achieve exceptional performance and deliver results.
We are an early-stage company and initially the position won’t have direct reports, so you will be expected to roll-up your sleeves and work on anything that needs to get done. This encompasses the creation and implementation of business plans, as well as the selection, hiring, training, development, and management of the sales team. You will manage business results and cross-functional initiatives. You will own the sales funnel from initial outreach to the first case submission, make the day-to-day decisions required to manage and direct business activities, and secure and analyze relevant information.
The position is based in our Palo Alto headquarters and will require approximately 50% travel (within the US).
The ideal candidate will possess many of the following skills and experiences:
Minimum of 10 years in sales positions in human health life science and/or veterinary science fields (experience in precision medicine, genetics and oncology is preferred).
Effective leadership in building well-functioning teams across various functions in an organization to include outside and inside sales teams.
Experience in building sales compensation plans to drive optimal growth in new and existing accounts while increasing customer engagement around additional offerings.
Establishing key opinion leader networks of influence that accelerate demand generation for company products and develop future products.
Demonstrated success in recruiting, hiring, developing and retaining talent required.
Ability to direct, take decisions, balance risk, lead, coach, develop, train and retain staff.
Entrepreneurial spirit to take bold action, accept responsibility and work hard with a sense of urgency. You understand that as a startup we work under a lot of ambiguity.
Ability to work in harmony with the Marketing team to build the company’s message.
Trustworthy, independent, energetic, motivated, willing to get hands dirty, can think outside the box and solve complicated and multifaceted issues.
